TTA Three-Peaks Challenge

Welcome to the TTA Three-Peaks Challenge activity page!

TTA is 30 this year and to mark this milestone, our fearless and determined team are undertaking the huge challenge of climbing the three highest peaks of England, Wales and Scotland to raise vital funds for our amazing charity partner Shine Cancer Support.

It all happens on Monday 13th to Tuesday 14th September 2021 and training is well underway!

The challenge is a brutal task, that requires anyone brave enough to embark on it, to walk around 26 miles and ascend over 3000m, taking in the dizzying heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m). It is usually completed within 24 hours, but as it’s our “big 30” we’re cutting the team some slack and giving them an extra 6 hours.

This is a serious and tough challenge which requires a good level of fitness to complete in 30 hours, as well as plenty of grit and resilience – a challenge not to be taken lightly or underestimated just because it's close to home.

Our willing volunteers will be taking on the challenge in aid of Shine Cancer Support which is the only UK charity that support adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s who have experienced a cancer diagnosis.  The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on Shine and its community. Fundraising has dramatically declined, but at the same time demand for Shine’s special tailored services has been increasing.

We have set ourselves an ambitious target to raise a total of £250 per person. With a 13-person strong team, we are hopeful that we can smash our £3,250 fundraising target but need your help to do that.

We understand that this year has been one of the toughest ever, for everyone, but Shine still need our support, now more than ever in fact, to help them complete their valuable work. If you would like to sponsor our climb, please click here to be taken to our ‘Just Giving’ page.

To maximise fundraising, we will be covering all our own expenses and we are incredibly grateful to our amazing sponsor Adam Wright who provided support on this webpage for free.

Please keep track of our progress on social media and using the hashtag #climbwithTTA30.

About Shine Cancer Support

Shine’s vision is that every young adult can access the help and support they need in a way that suits their lifestyle and that they are a part of a confident, supportive and empowered community of young adults living with cancer.

The charity’s mission is to provide tailored information and peer support to their community and Shine now has 19 local Shine Networks across the UK. They also run some annual events which have had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. TTA has partnered with Shine since 2016 to manage its annual flagship conference Shine Connect. We were delighted we could still deliver this as a virtual event in 2020 to support Shine’s community at such a difficult time.
